Samsung hopes to keep Apple down with new 'S4 Mini'

We all knew that there will be a S4 mini, its just the way of Samsung to squeeze out every penny when they see success out of a phone, just like any other company out there.

Samsung Galaxy S4

I my self don't see the new S4 mini as something spectacular, and although the S4 has the most impressive set of specifications, its still not 'innovative' enough to be called spectacular, however it is probably the best phone out there, when being compared to the overpriced pieces of rubbish companies put out there. The phone certainly does not compete with HTC's One for looks, as it is just a more squarer version of the S3, and the S3 was nothing impressive look wise.

The S4 mini will have a smaller screen, and a lower camera resolution, in fact the only thing that makes it resemble the S4 in anyway is the name. Otherwise its just a completely new phone, with lowered specifications. It definitely does not bring anything new to the table.

Lowering down the specifications of the new 'mini' is in no way competing with Apple's iPhone 5, the S4 can beat it hands down, but the mini in my opinion has no chance.

The best way to find out everything about the S4 is through consumer reviews, you can read them here on CellFawn.com.

Samsung Galaxy S4 breaks sales records

Samsung has been reaping in the profits from what many people called an 'exhausted brand'. The name Galaxy was supposed to grow a little dried out just as others fallen in the same way after releasing phone after phone squeezing out every single penny from a family or series of phone.

Its very surprising to hear that over 10 million S4s have been sold, this is breathtaking as it took 50 days for the Galaxy S3 to reach the same 10million mark. The skeptics who doubted that this could happen were not terribly pessmistic, they were looking at it in a realistic way, but the S4 sure did surpass everyones expectations, sales-wise of course.

While many people would call the phone, impressive, I do not. It sure does have the best specs out of all other smart phones, and Samsung has put together all this awesomeness in to one single body in the best way possible, but it just seems a bit dried out to me. I expected a bit more innovation from this phone rather than just putting all the best specs there and expect everyone to buy, which they did.

Nokia puts 'all eggs in one basket' with Lumia

Nokia was once the king of kings of mobile phone companies, but has lost recently to the growing power and might of Samsung with its huge number of devices as well as the popularity that inside with the launch of the iPhone. Nokia has since tried to get back on  the throne by allying with companies and trying to get its own back by bringing out new flagship devices one after another. With the new Lumia series, this bewildered company now hopes to make a come back to the big stage.

Back in the days when I used to buy Nokia phones I always used to buy them for three particular things, the first was the brand, Nokia obviously being the king at that time, the second was the camera, and the third was the quality, I felt that Nokia phones back then were very strong and never used to crack on first impact with the ground.

The new Lumia phones have not taken the world by storm like Nokia hoped, but they still allowed Nokia to get somewhat of an edge and helped them redefine them selves. They are back to concentrating the camera and the quality of the phones rather than concentrate on the other aspects that many companies are trying to perfect all at once, this company hopes to make better the other features but increase in quality their one powerful camera.

We have a ton of Nokia phone consumer reviews on CellFawn, check em out today!

What we think of the Samsung Galaxy S4

Well clearly the Galaxy S brand is not outdated as the customer line for it stretches thousands of miles. This phone is more wanted than the iPhone 5, and I really think that it deserves the attention it is getting way more than what the iPhone 5 deserved.

The iPhone 5 had nothing much extra to offer, but this incredible little phone has so many new specs most of the announced were not taken in to consideration straight away during the announcing ceremony, but after it really sank in, the innovative technologies put to use in this phone.

Now one thing that Samsung keeps bringing up is the 'eye' features that this phone has, we dont really know much about this phone other than how they described this phone to work well with humans, and human actions, just as it's predecessor.

Another really shocking thing that was revealed in this event was that this phone will have, not one, but two quad core processors functioning side by side. Now let me tell you why this is really impressive, these are not 8 cores functioning, but two actual processors functioning side by side. I have not a clue on how they incorporated this in such a small tiny smart phone.

Also stay tuned for consumer mobile phone reviews that will be up on CellFawn shortly.

Are Blackberry's new releases any good?

As you may have heard recently that Blackberry has announced two new phones and actually released one of them straight away. The BlackberryZ10 was instantly released and the Q10 is set to be released very soon.

The New Blackberry Z10 which is already out!

If you have checked out our website, you will probable have heard some of the thoughts by consumers who have had a chance to use this phone. From the site statistics I can say the overall reviews and opinions are largely positive, but like any other products there are flaws.

The Blackberry Z10 which is available now, has drastically been changed from the standard signature look that Blackberry phones are known to have. It has completely scrapped the standard keypad layout which have become a key feature in Blackberry phones an instead a full touch screen 4.3 inches display has taken the place.

Blackberry Q10
The Blackberry Q10 has managed to retain the entire signature look of the previous range of Blackberry phones. It has the standard Blackberry keypad layout, but to me it looks that the keypad is stretched out more and the keys seem to be bigger. But you do still have the touch screen, which is 3.1 inches. The 3.1 inches screen is very interesting as many phones have a 3.5inches screen, and they are dedicated to touch screens. But this phone not only provides an excellent keypad, but also a perfect screen by the looks of it.

To find out more about the Blackberry Z10 which is already out, have a look at our review site. We already have consumer reviews coming about the Z10, so why not have a look.

FireFox unveils first phones

I have previously talked about the rumours around the FireFox phones, but not these rumours are put to a stop . Two phones have been unveiled, but the release date and further information about sale has yet to be released.

GeekPhone Peek
The above phone is the more powerful of the two, and will be a bit more expensive than the latter. I am sure the phones wont retail for a very expensive price as the market is tough and FireFox cant afford to price them selves out. This one has a 1.2GHz dual core processor, and since it is being built primarily to run the FireFox browser and be more of a browser based phone, it wont require that great of a processing speed. The same goes for the below Keon phone which will only have a 1GHz processor.
Keon
Join our blog to stay tuned for further information about these two phones.

iPhone thief falls for online dating trap

After leaving a cab and forgetting to take his iPhone with him, Trombonist, Nadav Nirenberg made many attempts to get in touch with the cab driver, but with no luck. The man who stole the phone was no using his online dating profile which was stored in his iPhone to talk to girls online.

"Not only had he stolen my phone, he was creepy and disturbing," said Mr Nirenberg. "So I created another OKCupid account as 'Jennifer Gonzalez' a fictitious 24-year-old girl who just moved to Brooklyn. Then I chatted him up".

Nadav then created another account on the dating site, and started flirting with the thief making the thief more and more attracted to his fake profile. After successfully luring the thief to his apartment, he was ready with a hammer to attack the thief and take back what was rightfully his. But as the thief walked up the stairs to his apartment, Nadav looked through the peephole in his door and saw a man completely different to one that he had imagined. It was not a huge, strong man like he was preparing for but a small skinny indian who had dressed up for the occasion, even carrying a bottle of wine.

Rather than beating this little man up, Nadav out of kindness gave the man a 20 dollar note and got his iPhone back, and avoided a ugly scenario.

South Korea wants to ban Adult material and swearing on teenagers' phones

The technology rich Asian country wants to ban porn and swearing on every mobile phone that belongs to, or is used by a teenager. They say that this measure that they wish to implement, will prevent social outbursts and the biggest problem of all, cyber bullying which has quadrupled over the years because of the fast expansion of the Internet.

There are a huge number of supporters to this proposed ban as well as a huge number of opposition to this idea which the opposition might call, intrusive and a breach of privacy. The supporters of this proposed ban have the view that if these bans are implemented, teenagers will start behaving more social as the anti social elements in their 'mobile' lives are removed.

South Korea wishes to implement this ban by forcing on teenagers a software application that 'has' to be installed on their phone, which will then monitor the phone for any swearing and adult material.

South Korea currently has the largest mobile phone company in the world. Samsung which has its roots and international headquarters in India has recently over the past few years over taken Nokia to become the worlds largest manufacturer of mobile phones.

ZTE joins the big league by announcing super phone

ZTE has announced that it will be releasing its very own smart phone, but it wont be just any other smart phone and most likely not branded by another company like most of ZTE's other phones. This new phone will contain some pretty high specifications.

They have also announced that the phone will be named the ZTE Nubia Z5. It will be one of the first phones of 2013 to have a full HD 1080p display. The phone will also feature a quad core 1.5GHz processor backed up by a 2GB of ram. So the power of this phone will match that of the Galaxy Note 2, but will be a lot better because of things like the display.

It will of course run the latest version of the Android operating system, to take advantage of all the cool features the Android OS reserves for the big players. The phone will definitely be priced high, but you can surely expect to be way lower than a typical smart phone of this calibre.

New Blackberry phone pics leaked

Blackberry has been halting the production of a new smart phone for months now, and unlike most manufacturers who bring out a new phone every few months, the struggling Canadian firm has not gotten out a phone for almost a year now.

The new Blackberry phone will run the latest Blackberry OS10 which was just announced and released a few weeks back. This new Blackberry will be the first of a new family-series of phones labelled the N series.

As you can see from the picture above, this phone has changed from the standard look of blackberry phones. The screen seems a lot bigger and I believe Blackberry tried to make it more of a fully fledged touch screen phone as well having their signature Blackberry keypad.

Google and Motorola working on X phone

Motorola which has recently seen it self snapped up by the Internet giant Google, has started to work on a new phone which is in close collaboration with its powerful owner. Although Google lends its brand name to many other phones made by other manufacturer, this is the first collaboration between the two brands.

Motorola Electrify M XT905, motorola's current leading smart phone

Many people see this new collaboration as an end to the very popular Nexus series of phones which became popular with Samsung, and now LG with the new LG Nexus 4.

Alongside this new phone it is reported that Google and Motorola are also working on a X tablet. This looks like a move by Google to get a slice of the pie that Microsoft bit of just recently by releasing their very own tablet PC, and soon to release their own phone.
